Toothday Dental / Porcelain veneers
Porcelain veneers in Seri Kembangan
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells bonded to the front of teeth to change their shape, shade or size. At Toothday Dental in Taman Equine, Dr Cheng Mou Hang, whose areas of interest include aesthetic dentistry, plans smile design with veneers after an assessment.
What are porcelain veneers?
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit the front surface of a tooth. A set of veneers across the upper front teeth is often called smile design, because the shape and shade of the teeth are planned together.
Porcelain veneers are made in a dental laboratory, unlike composite veneers, which are built up directly on the tooth.
Who might they suit?
Veneers are one option for front teeth that are chipped, worn, discoloured or uneven in shape. The dentist checks first:
- gum health and any decay that needs treating first
- your bite, and habits such as teeth grinding
- whether a less invasive option could meet your goals

Questions people ask about veneers.
How much are porcelain veneers at Toothday?
Smile design with porcelain veneers is RM9,000 to RM12,000 for the upper front teeth, usually 6 to 8 units. The fee depends on how many teeth are involved and what your case needs, and is confirmed after an assessment.
Can veneers be removed later?
Placing porcelain veneers usually means removing a thin layer of enamel from the front of each tooth, so the treatment is generally not reversible. Discuss this with the dentist before deciding.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
It varies from person to person. Daily care, regular check-ups and habits such as teeth grinding or biting hard objects all play a part. The dentist explains how to look after them.
Are there other options?
Depending on what you want to change, whitening, composite bonding, braces or clear aligners may also be options. The dentist can talk through which ones suit your teeth.
